Key Takeaways From Inman Connect NYC 2018 #ICNY
Having a vast experience and working knowledge of real estate tech got me to a simple conclusion – it doesn’t really give you an understanding of the real estate industry, businesses, trends, disruptions, and future predictions or estimations. It is one branch of a very wide network, one that needs to be explored a branch at a time.
My participation in the recently concluded Inman Connect NYC 2018 came naturally and subconsciously, having worked on 3 real estate projects hands-on. I went there with two straightforward expectations:
- Gaining maximum knowledge from everyone I come across – speakers as well as people I connect with.
- Apply these insights to design, develop, and deliver better products for our clients
And now, I want to present the lessons, values, and knowledge that form the key takeaways from this event.
1. Data
As the saying goes, “Data is the new oil”. Data is now being used to target the right clients and prepare them for a unique offering.
From property appraisals to predictive analytics, data is definitely going to be the new industry disrupter.
2. Design & Content
Posting original content that’s easy to understand and consume will ensure better leads.
An eye-catching & user-friendly design for your website and mobile app will go a long way in guaranteeing that leads received with engage and stick.
3. Facebook & Instagram Marketing
Whether you are a real estate agent, real estate brokerage, or a franchise owner, Facebook & Instagram marketing is the way forward.
Focusing on the immensely-popular live videos strategy will help cultivate a relationship with your leads.
4. On-Demand Consumer
On-demand services don’t just serve to fulfil consumer demand via the immediate provisioning of goods and services. There are multiple scientific reasons for staying connected with the on-demand consumers to understand what they expect and want.
Knowing the what & why makes it easier to deliver better services to on-demand consumers.
5. Standardized Data
Standardized input, distribution, and display of real estate information was not a priority for the industry until now.
The Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) has set to remove inefficiencies due to non-standardized data by asking MLSs to adhere to RESO Data Dictionary and RESO Web API standards.
This is going to be a game-changer.
Parting Thoughts
Overall, the lively environment, active nature, and the hunger for disruption will drive this industry into an amazing future
